679 Vehicles Sanctioned in South Jakarta During September

During its operation in September 2023, the South Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency recorded and took action against 679 vehicles parked illegally

South Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency Head, Bernad Octavianus Pasaribu said the raid on illegally parked vehicles was aimed at maintaining public order, the beauty and neatness of the city.

"Every day, we deploy between 14 to 17 tow trucks and other operation cars plus 40 joint personnel from national arm and police," he expressed, Saturday (10/7).

He explained the raid is accordance with the mandate of Law Number 22/2009 on Road Traffic and Transportation. The regulation regulates that vehicles that violate signs or markings can be punished with imprisonment or a fine.

Of 679 vehicles netted, 164 were flattened its tires, 208 towed away, 276 were ticketed, 14 had had their operation licenses revoked.

"Hopefully, vehicle owners must consider the rights of other public facility users such as pedestrians," he asserted.
